Don't insist on the consequences of fitness, do you know
Release time:May 29,2024
Everyone will more or less encounter situations such as physical injuries, working day and night, or being entangled in other things and forced to postpone fitness. It's hard to wait until the holiday, however, a day or two of laziness is likely to last for weeks or even months, and then your exercise plan will return to its original state.
From a technical perspective, at this point, the muscles have already shrunk. According to data from the American Association of Sports Medicine (ACSM), 25-35% of adult fitness enthusiasts give up within 2-5 months of starting their workouts. Although the decline in health levels is caused by several factors, some facts can surprise you.
After stopping exercising for a week, the level of cardiovascular health began to decline. The later people start exercising, the faster their cardiovascular health declines.
1. The level of cardiovascular health begins to decline one week after stopping exercising
The level of cardiovascular health refers to the body's ability to transport and utilize oxygen from the blood to the muscles. This ability, also known as maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 max), will begin to decline 1-2 weeks after stopping exercising. After 3-4 weeks of bed rest, the resting heart rate will increase by 4-15 times per minute, and blood volume will decrease by 5% within 24 hours and 20% within two weeks.
2. The later you start exercising, the faster the decline in your heart and lung health
If you have only recently started exercising (less than 6 months), the rate of decline in your cardiovascular health is much faster than people who have been exercising continuously for a year or more. Your cardiovascular health level may decrease by up to 40%, but VO2 max is still higher than those who never exercise. For example, one person consistently engages in regular fitness for two years, while the other only lasts for two months. When they both stop exercising, their health level will rapidly decline within about 6 weeks. However, well-trained athletes will enter a stable period after a 40% decline, so those who persist in fitness for a long time are better able to maintain their physical health than those who are accustomed to sitting for a long time and have only recently started exercising.
3. The flexibility of the body begins to rapidly decline
If you don't do stretching exercises for a long time, your body's flexibility will be greatly reduced. After a certain amount of stretching exercise, the muscles and tendons begin to return to their original resting length, especially for office workers who often need to sit for long periods of time. You will find that flexibility will decrease in just three days, and there will be a significant change in two weeks. Even if you don't do stretching exercise every day, make sure to do it at least three times a week,
